ABOUT

Our Story

Serving Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Tampa, St Petersburg, and Orlando Florida. The charter fishing boat Strike Zone is conveniently located in west central FL. Clearwater Beach is on the west coast of Florida.

The Gulf of Mexico is off west Florida and is well known for its calm sea conditions and excellent year round shallow and deep sea fishing. Clearwater, Fl, located just west of Tampa, Florida, and is directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Depending on the fishing season, you will catch all sorts of different species of fish while fishing inshore or offshore of Clearwater, Florida aboard my charter fishing boat Strike Zone.

The 'Strike Zone' is a very versatile boat that is capable of fishing shallow inshore, coastal and offshore waters. The 'Strike Zone' is 27 feet long and is powered with twin 225 HP Evinrude outboards. The boat is fast and is quick to get to the fishing areas. The large console contains a head (toilet), making it convenient for women while on board.

Clearwater Beach Florida offers not only great saltwater sport fishing charters but is home to many other interesting and fun activities for you to enjoy in the Tampa Bay area.

The ‘Strike Zone’ can accommodate from 1 to 4 fishermen. Rates are based on the number of anglers on the trip. Cash, travelers checks or personal check is the preferred method of payment. To keep rates low, I do not accept credit cards

INSHORE fishing (bay or flats) is done in the shallow waters of Clearwater Bay and St. Joseph Sound. Light tackle and live bait is the preferred approach to angling in these waters.

Inshore fishing is always in protected areas where the water is typically very calm and seasickness is never a problem. Flats fishing is done mostly in spring, summer and fall. Winter fishing involves more structure and pot hole type fishing.

Travel time is minimal - sometimes fishing within minutes of leaving the marina.

COASTAL fishing is done from the shallows of the beach out to several miles into the Gulf of Mexico. The coastal range is from Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Clearwater Beach, Belleair Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Beach and Maderia Beach.

Fish from both the inshore and offshore water frequent this zone. Fishing is centered around sand bars, potholes and rock structures.

Since the marina is close to Clearwater Pass, the time is minimal in reaching the coastal areas.

OFFSHORE fishing extends west from the coastal area into the Gulf of Mexico. Natural and artificial reefs in this zone provide most of the angling opportunities. Many people call this deep sea fishing.

From flats fishing to deep sea fishing, the 'Strike Zone' and Captain Gary can get you there.
